How Do You Sync Samsung Galaxy S6 to Outlook?

Samsung has released the specs for its newest Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge phones. The company is marketing these as the thinnest smartphones it has ever designed. In short, they have crisper screens, speedier charging times, quicker processors and faster cameras.

Will the new phone let users be more productive with emails, appointments and contacts? Read on to find out.

Samsung Galaxy S6 specs

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge shed plastic bodies for a more stylish mix of metal and glass. It won’t be just any glass as the phone uses Gorilla glass for extra protection. Most notable about the Galaxy S6 is its edges. The S6 has an ultra-thin edge and the S6 Edge curves down and back. They’ll be available in white, black, gold, blue (S6 only) and green (S6 Edge only).

At 5.1 inches, the display size is the same as Samsung Galaxy S5 except the S6 resolution is 577 pixels per inch, a jump from the S5’s 432. As a basis for comparison, the iPhone 6 has a 4.7-inch screen and 326 ppi.

It only takes 10 minutes to charge these phones for up to four hours of use or playing two hours of HD video. They can be charged wirelessly with a charging pad that’s sold separately. Both come with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Samsung is prepared to battle with Apple Pay with its own Samsung Pay. (How did they ever come up with that name?) When it launches this summer, word is that more vendors will accept Samsung Pay than Apple Pay.

The back camera is 16 megapixels while the front selfie camera is 5 megapixels. Double-click the home button to launch the camera. It opens in less than a second, which is impressively fast by all early reports. For improved picture quality, the camera includes automatic white balance adjustment and optical image stabilization.

The phones don’t come with a removable battery or a microSD card slot. If the battery dies, users won’t be able to replace it. On the other hand, not having a removable battery made it possible for the phone to be 11 grams lighter and at least 1 mm thinner than the S5. Unlike the S5, however, these phones aren’t waterproofed as they’re not rated IP67.

Also, users won’t be able to expand storage beyond the memory that comes with the phone. Built-in memory options are 32 gb (S6 only), 64 gb and 128 gb. Nevertheless, Samsung works around this with OneDrive and 115 GB of cloud storage. The downside is that it stores your private information in the cloud.

Aside from Milk music, S Health and S Voice apps, Samsung doesn’t load much of its own apps onto the phones. Instead, it provides a shortcut that allows you to select that apps you wish to install. This puts users in control over the apps rather than loading it with a bunch of useless apps they don’t want.

Samsung Kies problems

The S6 uses Samsung Kies software to sync media and other content. Search online forums and you’ll find a lot of questions and comments about Samsung Kies not working. Users spend more time going in circles and seeking Kies alternatives than resolving Kies problems.

Why look for third party software to sync Outlook calendar with Android? The process to sync isn’t an easy one. Phone and operating system manufacturers want to produce an all-around functioning phone. They have to think about speed, battery performance, camera, size, weight, calling features and more. Outlook sync software developers only focus on one thing: creating software that effortlessly syncs Outlook with phones.

Fortunately, you have a better Samsung Kies alternative and Google calendar. Akruto is two-way Windows PC sync software that can automatically and seamlessly sync Outlook with Samsung Galaxy and most Android phones. You’ll be able to take your Outlook calendar and contacts with you on your phone and other compatible devices.

If you happen to own an iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, Windows Phone or Windows Surface, it’ll sync with those too.

Private, effortless way to sync Samsung Galaxy S6 with Outlook

Unlike other Samsung Galaxy S6 Outlook sync software, AkrutoSync uses the S6’s built-in calendar and contacts app. It does not install a calendar and contacts app on a Samsung Galaxy S6 or any other compatible phone. Rather, it maximizes the phone’s capabilities by using its own apps. This allows you to take advantage of your phone’s integrated features.

For example, someone texts you asking for a friend’s email address. Rather than switching to contacts, then copying and pasting the information, you can directly share the person’s contact information from within the messaging app.

Benefits of using Akruto to sync Outlook with Samsung Galaxy S6

will it work with Outlook 2016

    • Akruto Support December 6, 2015 at 11:04 am

Yes. If you have Outlook 2016 you can start using AkrutoSync with it now; it already works. If you are using an older version of Outlook and plan to upgrade in the future, you can start using AkrutoSync with any Outlook version. When you upgrade, AkrutoSync will detect that you upgraded to Outlook 2016 and will continue work.

I use Outlook.com. Will AkrutoSync work with that?

You can use Outlook.com, but you will also need to have the desktop Outlook app (even if you make all your changes via Outlook.com website).
