Samsung Kies not working? We have a solution.
Samsung Kies, an app that syncs Outlook, music and photos with the Android phone and updates software, comes up often in discussion forums. But not in a good way. Glad I never bothered with Samsung Kies. Tried a few apps and Akruto works for me. Like that it’s automatic and doesn’t use the cloud.
Yikes! Kies sounds like a nightmare. Thanks for letting us know about it. I did a search on Samsung Kies and it’s unbelievable how much trouble it is. Free isn’t worth this.
But Samsung Kies doesn’t just sync Outlook. It also syncs media. If I use AkrutoSync, how will I sync other things?
John, just connect your phone to your computer via USB and your computer will see it as a media device and let you transfer media. If you install (but do not use) Kies, your phone will also appear as a drive when you plug it in, so that you can browse all your files. This works because when you install Kies it also installs USB drivers that make your phone appear as a drive.
What would I need to do to remove Kies and start using Akruto?
Richard, you can use Kies to remove previously synced contacts, event and tasks from your phone. Then install AkrutoSync and follow on-screen instructions to set it up. It only takes a few steps and AkrutoSync guides you step by step. You do not need to uninstall Kies.
I had Samsung Kies problems. Spent too much time trying to fix problems. Found alternative in Akruto and it has worked great since.
How is it that a company the size of Samsung, can make such a significant mess of a relatively simple process ? The whole benefit of the tech, is to sync data and be mobile .. Kies drops calender items (you can see where that leads), and is sooo slow.
I have tried Samsung help .. 1 week to get a call back and then denial …. useless.

I have a new GT-C3590, so just tried Kies again (it failed some time back!). It now says I have No Contacts …
Would Akruto enable me to see and sync contacts? I really hate Outlook, so just want something to use between the phone and PC (Nokia Suite does it, so why not anything else?). Thanks

I have a problen that when i open samsung kies….it displays that kies has stopped working
and says window check online for a solution but when i click check it stops ansd close ……so please help me….
Vasu, it is one of the common problems with Kies. You can check if a newer version of Kies is available; perhaps it will work better for you.

I backed up all of my contacts, MY CALENDAR, etc. using Kies3… now Kies3 won’t start… if I switch to AkrutoSync, can it read the backup files from Kies3 on my notebook and transfer them to my Galaxy S5?
I am moving from the Samsung S5 to the S7, the old S5 the touchscreen is not working. I need an option like Kies to get the data off the old phone, but each time I connect the phone to Kies, it says it is locked, which it is not. I have never had a numeric lock code on the phone. What options do I have to sync the old phone with Kies?
Samsung Kies isn’t free: it cost me so much time, energy, and frustration. I put up with it too, too long (picture full speed sprinting into a brick wall. Picture it again. Picture it again. You can use AkrutoSync for both of your phone. You will need to install the AkrutoSync app on your computer or laptop where Outlook is installed.
