Outlook App on iPhone – Should You Install One?
Many people use their phones for managing their email and daily schedule. If you rely on your iPhone, iPad or another iOS device to manage your entire life, you might look for a list of best apps for working with Outlook data on your smartphone. What are the most important features of a perfect iOS app for Outlook? The first things that came to mind are a built-in email client, iPhone contacts to Outlook sync, compatibility with Microsoft Exchange, Google drive and integration with popular email accounts such as Gmail, Hotmail and etc. That’s it!
In this tutorial we will guide you through finding the most suitable Outlook app for your device. But should iOS users search the app store for a dedicated solution with good email support? Not at all! We think like that because there is another flexible way of syncing your data and it’s called AkrutoSync. This software supports working with iPhone’s native contacts and calendar apps and allows you quickly sync your data across all connected devices no matter which iOS version they are running on. Forget about Google Drive OneDrive and other Cloud services. AkrutoSync works flawlessly with all contacts and files located on your PC as well as with similar data you have on your mobile device. There’s one thing common to all well-written software: it is reliable and automatic.
What about email?
Using iPhone to manage mail is a very common thing many smartphone owners do on their devices. But looking for an all-in-one solution for working with emails and Outlook data that provides 5-star user experience is hard. So true, isn’t it? That’s why we recommend splitting this task into two parts and setting up native iPhone mail app to work with emails and letting AkrutoSync handle everything related to Outlook. With this approach, you’ll have a hassle-free syncing experience with the best email app from Apple.
How to work with Outlook data on your iPhone
To sync your iPhone with Outlook, start AkrutoSync and tap “Configure AkrutoSync” in the left menu. You will see two sections focused on choosing the proper type of connection. Choose iOS. Follow all the steps shown in the interface during which you will have to ensure your PC and smartphone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and switch to your smartphone when asked to do that. Start Safari on your iPhone. At the next step, type in the IP address shown in the upper left corner of AkrutoSync interface into the browser’s address bar and tap “Go”. You will see a page asking you to install a security certificate on your phone that will encrypt the whole data exchange process between all connected devices. Import this security certificate. After this, proceed to the next step where you should create a fake email address and password, which will be used later.
In the smartphone, switch to iOS settings section, choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Select Add Account option in iPhone’s interface. Name your exchange account and enter your email address and password received in the previous step. Tap “Next” and enable all types of data on the next screen. This is essential for making the process reliable and automatic.

Every time an upgrade is released, I cannot receive Outlook updates on my iPhone…this has occurred since the first upgrade years ago. I am still struggling to figure out how to get it to work as i do every-time an upgrade is released. Someone out there must have the solution.
