GuestHow do you clear the contents of the log. My log is now over 500Mb.
Paul W.
GuestMine was over 1GB! I simply deleted it. It regenerates automatically. I just wrote to support (about my calendar no longer syncing(, and mentioned that they should not let it get that large.
ModeratorHi Paul
We apologize for the inconvenience.
The log file contains all the processes that AkrutoSync executes for sync to occur. The log file will include the name of your Outlook profiles and Outlook folders. We can assure you that no Outlook data and information for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes can be seen or extracted from the log file.
If the log file size is taking large spaces in your hard drive, you can quit AkrutoSync in your computer and delete the large log file. Re-run AkrutoSync again and it will generate a fresh new log file with smaller size.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to stop the software from creating the log file. The log file is used to trace the problems encountered while using AkrutoSync.

But HOW do to delete the large log file? Where is it on my computer? Thanks.
ModeratorHi Sandee
You can find it by clicking “Open Data Directory” in AkrutoSync window on your computer. After clicking “Open Data Directory” on the left panel, a folder will appear where you will find the log file named as “Akruto” or “akruto.log”. Make sure that you exit AkrutoSync before you delete the log file. You can do that by right clicking AkrutoSync icon on the system tray (near clock) and select “Quit AkrutoSync”.
Let me know if this helps.

GuestWould be nice if you provided ‘roll over’ capabilities of the log file such that when, for example, it reached 10 MB that it renames current log to ‘log.yyymmddhhmmss’ and initiates a new log file. And continue the rollover until a configuration max storage or max #files is reached then start purging the older log files as per the config. It’s quite a common practice. I see zero benefit in having a 350MB log file as most editors can open it and most editors can’t navigate it.

GuestWish I had seen this thread about 5-6 hours ago when my C drive maxed out. Had to use WinDirStat to track down the culprit. Would probably have been the last place I looked at if I didn’t have that program. I have been using Akrutosync since 2014 and the log file had never been purged. 36 GB! No wonder my SSD C: drive ran out of space. My recommendation is to add a button to purge the file if possible. At least add something to the help files so those less computer literate know what to do.
ModeratorHello Charly and Guy,
Thank you for using AkrutoSync and we apologize for the inconvenience.

GuestSince I posted on 10-10 that I deleted my log, it has grown to 16 GB…in 7 days. Something has changed in the latest update which I installed around the time my C drive froze. Akruto is pouring data into the log. Y’all need to look into what changed.

GuestI have 33 GB available space on my C drive. I run out of space every 2 weeks after installing the last update to Akruto Sync. I have to delete the log. I ran Akruto for 4 years without ever deleting the log and now I have to delete it routinely or I run out of hard drive space. What is going on? Are y’all working on a fix for this? Is there something I can do to turn off logging?
ModeratorHi Guy,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to turn off the logging for AkrutoSync. You may need to reconfigure AkrutoSync again including the uninstall and reinstall process.
Can you verify if the Outlook on your PC have all the latest Contacts, Calendar, Task & Notes?
Please send an email to support@akruto.com in order for us to assist you further with the reconfiguration process.
