akruto.log growing huge

How do I stop the akruto.log file from generating; or, just archive it periodically (i.e. RAR it).

If I try while akruto is alive, the file is locked.

I shut down akruto (and Outlook) but the file was still locked.

I rarely shut down my PC – typically keeping Outlook + Akruto running continuously.
