Hi – has there been a recent update to AkrutoSync?
I ask because today I noticed huge numbers of duplicated calendar entries going years back suddenly appear in Outlook (Windows 10 fully updated – x64 Win but x32 Office – syncing via Wifi to iPhone)
Switching to list view in Outlook calendar I was able to look at created date of new entries – all today soon after I started Outlook. Looking at the AkrutoSync window I can see that Sync started around that time (though to be fair that could simply be Akruto responding to new (duplicated) entries from within Outlook itself).
Any ideas? It’s going to be a bit of a pain removing thousands of duplicated entries going back over 10 years – hopefully I can use List view to sort by Created and whack them that way.
Incidentally many (but not all) of the duplicated items have a different icon – a blank calendar page with a dot on it rather than a yellow note with a pin – if that helps.

OK so definitely something weird happening – went back to look at various dates years ago (usually with new duplicate entries) but did not actually open any.
Now noticed that some calendar entries from say 4 years ago have appeared on today’s calendar with today’s date.
Have Quit AkrutoSynch as a precaution
    Any ideas? Thanks

Further update – the items that have suddenly appeared in my Calendar today (from over 4 years back) seem to be Calendar items which originated from Invites from other people.
However the many many duplicated Calendar items going back years are NOT all derived from Invites – they are ordinary manually entered Calendar items.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello Jay,

Thank you for contacting us today.

This looks odd and seems like an issue with the Outlook data file or Outlook and not from AkrutoSync itself. AkrutoSync does not make duplicates and it only syncs the data that is from Outlook to your phone whether its an added/edited/deleted data. Unfortunately, AkrutoSync does not have a tool for removing duplicates in Outlook.

You may need to contact Microsoft support for removing these duplicated appointments in Outlook as they have the proper tool or procedure on how to remove them and to have them check if your data file is not corrupted.

    Regards,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Hard to understand why or how Outlook itself would make duplicate entries – generally speaking any Outlook Calendar entry has to be physically created unless a recurring appointment I believe. I would say that it would need dedicated Outlook programming for the product to create new/duplicated items automatically?

Alternatively there could of course be some corruption with the Outlook database – but I ran the Microsoft check tool and no problem was detected.

Also I am seeing earlier calendar appointments (e.g. In June) that I know for certain I moved along to July suddenly reappear in their original date.

I know that any Sync tool is not meant to create duplicates but to do that there must be some aspect of the programming that checks to see that the entry on e.g. the iOS device is exactly the same as that on the originating Windows device and prevent it being taken copied from the iOS device to the Windows device. I would imagine that that is quite a tricky task to perform and that there is a small chance of ‘confusion’ and accidents happening?

All very odd – I’ll keep an eye out (as well as devote time to removing the thousands of duplicates) and let you know if there I spot any likely cause.
