I have two mobile device that I want to sync to my laptop using AcrutoSync:
One is a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (running Android 10) and that works fine synching in both directions.
The other is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ and that one – presumably since a recent OS upgrade – has seized to connect to AcrutoSync.
The odd thing is: I have a separate “Tasks and Notes” application running on that same table, which has its own connection setup and that works OK. So, my tasks and notes are syncing fine. So, obviously the connectivity is not the issue here.
For my contacts and calendar, however, I need to create an “account” on the OS level and that’s the one that doesn’t work anymore.
For that I am – like with my Note 9 – trying to establish a “Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync” account in “Settings” under “Accounts and backup” using the same server, username and password as with the other device.
The failure that I then always get is a terse “Couldn’t verify account” error message.

I am running AcrutoSync v5.2.52 on Windows 10 22H2 (with all available updates and patches installed). My Outlook reports as “Microsoft® Outlook® 2016 MSO (Version 2210 Build 16.0.15726.20188) 32-bit”.
    The Tablet’s “About”-dialog states “Android 13” with patch level “Nov. 1, 2022”.

Any idea how to get this connection working again? Do I need to create some special “acceptable” server certificate or something of that sort?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us today.

Firstly, please update AkrutoSync to the latest version:
Please download and install the latest version of AkrutoSync here: https://www.akruto.com/files/download/

Simply run the installer and finish the process. You don’t need to uninstall the current version installed on your computer. Reboot your computer and phone after and make sure that they are connected to the same network.

Next, on your phone, follow this:

    1. Go to Settings > Accounts.
    2. Choose the AkrutoSync account.
    3. Select “Account Settings”.
    4. Choose the AkrutoSync account again.
    5. Scroll down and look for “Incoming Settings”.
    6. Scroll down and look for “Security type” and set it to None then save the account.

    This should resume the syncing.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Raphael – unfortunately no joy!

The Account Setup form on Samsung devices (on both my mobile (Android 10, patch level July 2022) and my tablet (Android 13, patch level Dec. 2022)) does not have any “advanced” option or “incoming” settings (anymore).

When setting up an “Exchange ActiveSync”-account (which in my understanding is what AkrutoSync implements) you can only enter an email address and a password and – under “server settings” – one can enter the Exchange server’s name (FQDN) and a port number. Furthermore one can tick whether to use a secure connection or not and that’s it. I tried with the latter on and off but neither worked.

Do you have other suggestions how to get this going? I slowly fear that this may be the end of the possibility to sync my mobile and tablet to my desktop using AkrutoSync…

I forgot to mention: the error message is always:

    Couldn’t verify account
Couldn’t connect to your account. Check account and server information, then try again.

    Hallo,

    Klaus

Sorry, hab’ deiner Antwort erst jetzt gesehen. Und was musstest du da genau machen?

    Hi Michael,

The certificate can be downloaded during the configuration of Akruto. You may also email us a screenshot of what you currently see in Akruto so we can further assist you at support@akruto.com
