GuestUsing Windows 10 on laptop with Thunderbird for my personal email (gmail account); also use Outlook through my college’s Exchange server for college emails. My contacts & calendar are Outlook; I have both a college server calendar & contacts, and my personal calendar & contacts. I have downloaded Thunderbird to my phone (Galaxy 7)
Question is, how do I get Akruto to properly sync with all these accounts? With my previous phone, used Android-Sync and cable to sync, but would love to set up the new phone to do this wirelessly.
ModeratorHi Joan,
This is the process of how AkrutoSync works: It is installed on a computer running on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 with Outlook 2002/2003/2007/2010/2013/2016/Office 365 with Outlook 2013 or 2016. The root source of its data is the PST or OST file of a POP3 or IMAP email account from Outlook. It can sync Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes (it depends which type/s you sync) to Android phones/tablets, Windows mobile phones/tablets, and iOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch).
Any entry in your phone for Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes (it depends which type/s you sync) that are not in Outlook on the computer WILL NOT SYNC thru AkrutoSync since the root source is Outlook’s Data file on the computer.
The Thunderbird setup that you have is not compatible with AkrutoSync. Also, you have multiple accounts for Calendar and Contacts – AkrutoSync cannot sync multiple accounts especially if they come from Thunderbird for the data file.

GuestThanks so much for the info, Alf!

GuestOne quick question, Alf: will Akruto do a “backward” sync from my android to my Outlook? For instance, if I enter a new appointment on my Outlook calendar from my phone, will it sync to my computer once I get home?
(And BTW, I must have been having an airhead moment when I emailed you about syncing from Thunderbird to my phone…I KNOW of course that T’bird is just an application…my personal emails are hosted through Gmail, so they’ll sync just fine to my phone. Duh!)
