    Hello. I’ve been using AkrutoSync for several years and have found it to be invaluable.

    However, I had to run the Windows checkdisk program on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop today. After the program completed, AkrutoSync was unable to load when Windows restarted. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling AkrutoSync version 5.2.41 several times, and when I try to launch the program it loads but with the status message, “Unable to initialize sync engine” and there are no other options shown on the left side of the window except “Open Data Directory” and “About AkrutoSync”.

    I’m trying to use AkrutoSync with Office 365 and my Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android version 8.0.0.

    If you can reply with any help as quickly as possible it will be greatly appreciated.

    Well, after nearly 24 hours without a response from AkrutoSync support, I’ve decided to switch over from using Outlook 365 to Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts, because AkrutoSync has become an unreliable approach to sync with my Samsung Galaxy S7 – Android phone. This is really unfortunate because I’ve used AkrutoSync very successfully for several years.

    Hello David,

    We sincerely apologize for the delayed response and for the inconvenience that this has caused you.

    We will need to investigate further on this particular case of yours. Please assist us in retrieving the Akruto logs on your computer. I will forward it to our developers to investigate further. To retrieve the logs, please do the following:

    To get to the log file please click Open data directory in AkrutoSync and look for the file Akruto or akruto.log. Zip it up and send it via email to support@akruto.com

    The log file contains all the processes that AkrutoSync executes for sync to occur. The log file will include the name of your Outlook profiles and Outlook folders. We can assure you that no Outlook data and information for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes can be seen or extracted from the log file. Also, yes, we would recommend to have the log file compressed in a zip file.

    Hello, yes, all the Contacts and Calendars are up to date on Outlook 365 (I am running only the client version, not the online version) . I don’t think I had configured Akrutosync to sync up Tasks or Notes.

    As mentioned in my original post, Akrutosync was working fine until I had to run Chkdsk on my Windows 7 laptop.

    Sorry, I thought that link to the YouTube video would work.

    If you want to see the video, search on YouTube for this phrase:

    [SOLVED]

    AkrutoSync tech support has solved this problem (thank you!) and here are the final steps that fixed it:

    ==========

    (From tech support)
    “As per the investigation conducted by our development team, this issue seems to be generated by a very old version of Microsoft .NET framework on your computer. Our development team have updated AkrutoSync so that the error would not happen. Please install the latest version of AkrutoSync.

    “If the issue still occurs, please send us the latest AkrutoSync log file or upgrade the .NET framework on your computer to the latest version”

    ==========

    (I had to remove the two download links that AkrutoSync support provided because apparently links are not allowed by this forum)

    I first installed the latest version, 5.2.42 but a different issue occurred:
    AkrutoSync error

    I then uninstalled and reinstalled the version of the .NET framework that was referenced above, and that solved the AkrutoSync issue. I’m now able to sync successfully with Outlook 365 on my Windows computer.

    Thanks to AkrutoSync support for working through this issue. Your help is greatly appreciated!
