And if you’re a Microsoft Outlook fan, then you’ll take productivity to superlative levels when you use Akruto to sync LG V10 with Outlook Calendar and Contacts.

LG V10 phone specs

The 6.28 x 3.12 x 0.34-inch phone weighs 6.77 ounces, a bit on the heavier side. Nexus 6P is right behind at 6.28 ounces and the Galaxy S6 is notably lighter with its 4.87 ounces. The V10 has 4 GB of memory, a whole 1 GB more than its rivals. Its less than stellar 3000 mAh battery promises 10 hours of average talk time (5 days shorter than average) and 5 days of stand-by time (13 days shorter than average). Sporting Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the phone’s screen is scratch-resistant and it’s also shock and vibration resistant.

LG’s new phone comes loaded with Android v5.1.1, but it should be upgradeable to Android Marshmallow 6.0. (Upgrades depend on various factors such as telecommunications provider.) The LG V10 only comes with 64 GB of storage built-in. So there’s no getting a phone with less storage for less money.

If 64 GB isn’t enough especially since you’ll want to milk its cameras for all they’re worth, then you can add up to 2 terabytes — tera … yes, TB as in 1000 GB per 1 TB — of storage with a microSD card. With that much storage, you won’t feel pressured to download images and recordings to your computer to make space on your phone. The Nexus 6P and Samsung Galaxy S6 come with more built-in storage at 128 GB, but they don’t have expansion capabilities.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset is the same as the one in the LG G4. With four CPU cores, it’s not the fastest chip on the block. Still, it has a solid and balanced performance. Supporting the Qualcomm is Adreno 418 GPU (graphics processing unit). Apps with rich 2D and 3D won’t perform as well as they could with the more powerful Adreno 430 GPU.

LG V10 display and cameras

Te LG V10’s 5.7-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels is almost the same as the Nexus 6P and Samsung Galaxy S6 except for the lower pixels per inch at 513 ppi. Nexus 6P has 518 ppi and Galaxy S6 has 577 ppi. What the V10 lacks in ppi, it makes up for it with the secondary display for quick peeks at the time, date, battery, and weather information on an always-on small strip above the main display. This lets you to see this information at all times without turning on the phone’s full display.

Notification also appear out of the way on the secondary screen so you can continue watching videos and doing other tasks without having popups interrupt you. The LG has 16 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and dual front-facing 5 MP selfie cameras with an 80-degree angle for close-ups and 120-degrees for taking wider pictures. It has image optimization stabilization for capturing sharper images.

It’s no surprise the LG V10 has been recognized as best camera considering its older sibling, the LG G4 has an impressive camera. The LG V10 wins with its video recording capabilities, which includes manual recording mode shooting 4K. Settings you can change include white balance, focus, ISO, and shutter speed.

Sony Xperia Z5 has a superior camera. However, its poor performing camera app leaves much to be desired. Fortunately, LG V10 contains an almost flawless camera app.
