Sync Microsoft Lumia with Outlook

Sync Microsoft Lumia with Outlook

By now, you know that Microsoft bought Nokia’s phone business including all the Lumia phones. The company has started rebranding these phones as Microsoft Lumia. One of the most common questions customers ask about the Windows Phone is: Will Microsoft Lumia sync with Outlook?

Sync Microsoft Lumia with Outlook

Out-of-the-box, the Lumia doesn’t sync with Outlook unless you opt to use Outlook.com or Office365. Both services save your personal information in the cloud. Something many people don’t want to do because recent cloud hacks have them working harder to protect their privacy.

The solution

To help boost productivity and protect privacy, we developed AkrutoSync software to sync Outlook with phones, tablets and devices without going through the cloud. Whether you buy a Nokia Lumia or Microsoft Lumia, Akruto works with both as it can sync Outlook with Windows Phone 8.1 and any future releases.

“Akruto is a must have for Windows Phone. I do not want to sync my calendar via cloud. Thank you!” customer Lars B writes.

Microsoft stills sell Nokia-branded, entry-level phones that don’t have the Lumia name. Akruto is compatible with Nokia 130 and other Nokia phones. If you use Akruto to sync Nokia Lumia with Microsoft Outlook, it will still sync. If you buy a rebranded phone, you’ll be able to continue using Akruto. You’ll just have to set up Akruto to connect with the new phone and any other devices you want to use.

Two ways to sync Microsoft Lumia with Outlook

Akruto offers two ways to sync. Neither uses the cloud, online accounts or USB cables. The software transfers your calendar and contacts directly between your computer and your devices.

The first option is Wi-Fi. The advantage is that you won’t use your phone’s data plan. Install Akruto on your Windows PC or laptop. And Wi-Fi automatically and continuously keeps your contacts and calendar in sync between PC and devices.

The other sync option is SSL-encrypted Internet. This uses your phone’s data plan. If you have other devices — Android (Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Motorola Moto X, for example), iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad — you can sync those too. Whichever option you choose, it’ll ensure your data is updated across all devices and your PC.

Benefits of using Akruto to sync Outlook calendar with Microsoft Lumia

In addition to privacy, Akruto offers many other benefits. Here are some of customers’ favorites.

Offers reliable sync.

Many sync programs tend to cut off long notes, sync partial information for contacts and events or fail to sync all contacts and events. If you watch the video, you’ll see Akruto syncs 12,000 contacts. (Insane, we know!) How many people have more than that? Akruto works with more than 50,000 contacts.

Syncs completely without scrambling data.

The video also shows the successful sync of a note with Shakespeare’s complete sonnets — 96,000 characters long. This article has almost 6,000 characters. So imagine a note that’s 16 times longer than this!

Uses your phone’s apps.

Akruto syncs with the calendar and contacts apps that comes included with your Windows Phone. It does not install a separate app for each. Here’s information on How to Sync Outlook Notes with Windows Phone. If you have an iPhone, iPad or Android device, Akruto also syncs with the apps that come with those. Tasks on the iOS are in the Reminder app. Androids may require downloading a separate app.

Because Akruto syncs with your phone’s app, all of its integrated functions work. For example, you share a contact through a text message. The contacts on Outlook for PC show up in your phone’s contacts.

Works automatically.

Most solutions that avoid the cloud usually require a USB cable to sync. You can’t sync automatically with USB. By using your home or office network’s secure Wi-Fi or SSL-encrypted Internet, your data automatically syncs whenever you’re connected to the network that your PC accesses.

“Having just bought a Windows phone, I was unsure how to synchronize my Outlook contacts and calendar but hadn’t a clue how to go about it. I found Akruto on the web, viewed the video showing how to do this and was impressed by the simplicity of it all.” Bill M writes. “Just what a ‘limited ability user’ like me needed. I downloaded the seven-day trial version and within minutes had full synchronization — without losing my temper once! Just what I needed. I’ve now bought the download.”

I downloaded a trial version a while back but never tested it. I am frustrated with Microsofts offering so I downloaded Akruto again to see if I enjoyed it before I pay for it. It now says trial expired before I can use it. How do I get a “second” crack at it?
