I have a new Dell laptop as a replacement to my old laptop after it crashed. Unfortunately, all of my contacts were in Outlook on the old laptop, and they couldn’t be recovered. Fortunately, I still have the same set of contacts on my iPhone which I managed to sync from Outlook to the phone through iTunes.

I can’t seem to get the contacts on the iPhone into Outlook on the new laptop, even through iTunes. Will your software help me do this?

    Hi L.R. Jackson,

Thank you for your interest in AkrutoSync. I’m sorry about the issue PC issue you encountered. AkrutoSync works in that everything that you have in Outlook will be copied to the phone on the first sync. When you set up your first sync, the data from Outlook will sync to the phone and now will be locked in the AkrutoSync account which will allow you to edit them on the phone or in Outlook. Nothing that already exists on the phone will sync back to Outlook on the first sync.

What you can do is to first sync your data on the phone to iTunes. Most of the time, this is turned on by default. If your data is not yet synced to iCloud, turn on Contacts and Calendar sync in iCloud and update your device: Tap Settings > iCloud on your iPhone, and enable Contacts and Calendar sync.

Are your contacts and calendar already synced to iCloud?

Thanks for the tip! I now have the contacts and calendar data on my phone in my iCloud account. I had to enable iCloud sync as it was disabled. Now that my data is in my iCloud account? How do I get them into Outlook? Once that’s done, I’d like to be able to add new items and make changes to the same data in Outlook and have them sync to the phone. How do I do that with your software?

    Hi L.R. Jackson,

Since the data on your phone is synced to iCloud, you can refer to our guides on how to export your existing data from iCloud into Outlook.

To export your contacts from iCloud as a CSV file which you can import into Outlook:
    https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/icloud-contacts-to-outlook/

To export your calendar from iCloud as an iCal file:
    https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/export-icloud-calendar-as-ical/
To import the iCal calendar file from iCloud into Outlook:
    https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/import-ical-ics-calendar-into-outlook-2013/

Once everything is in Outlook, first, install AkrutoSync on your PC. You can download the latest version from this link: https://www.akruto.com/get-akruto-sync/

Once it is installed, click on Configure AkrutoSync, select the sync method that you want, and follow on-screen instructions to proceed with configuration.

For iOS devices, we would recommend configuring sync over internet.

Please feel free to contact us if you need any asistance.

Everything is now in Outlook. Thank you for that. I’m now trying to go through the steps for setting up synchronization with your software, but it shows that it would be best to clear my phone. Is there a less drastic alternative for this? Thanks in advance!
