Import CSV Contacts into Outlook

This guide applies to Outlook 2013, 2016, 2019, 2021.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook.

2. Select “People” and “File.”

3. Select “Open & Export.”

4. Select “Import/Export.”

5. Select “Import from another program or file” then click “Next”.

6. Coose “Comma Separated Values” then click “Next”.

7. Select “Browse” and locate your CSV file.

8. Choose your CSV file and click “OK”. The screen will return to “Import a File” window. (“Open” will change to “OK” after clicking your CSV file.)

9. Select the option for how you want Outlook to handle duplicates.

10. Leave the destination folder as “Contacts” or “Contacts (This computer only)” and select “Next.”

11. Select “Finish.”

Click Finish

You’ll see the Import and Export progress screen in Microsoft Outlook 2021. How long it takes depends on how many contacts you’re importing.

If you wish to delete your Google contacts, verify that you’ve downloaded your contacts and successfully imported it to your Microsoft Outlook. You can then proceed to delete the Google Contacts.
