    Hi Dave,

Please send us the log file for troubleshooting. To get to the log file, click the “Open Data Directory” link in AkrutoSync. In the window that opens, find the file akruto.log (sometimes shown as just “Akruto”) and email it as an attachment. Please compress (zip) the file before sending.

The log file contains all the processes that AkrutoSync executes for sync to occur. The log file will include the name of your Outlook profiles and Outlook folders, but we can assure you that no Outlook data and information for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes can be seen or extracted from the log file.

Send the log file via email to [email protected]
On the title and on the body of your email please explain why you sent the log file.

    Thank you.

    Hi Lynn,

Thank you for the details below. SIM card contacts can be manually transferred from the phone to the computer using the native tools of the phone. It will be better that you contact Samsung and/or your phone provider on how to transfer them.

Also, there is an option to transfer from SIM to phone for those contacts – you refer to the phone’s manual on how it is done. Once these contacts are transferred to the phone, you can use https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/android-contacts/ as a guide on how to import it to Outlook on your computer.

    Hi Jimmy,

Sync over the Internet can only sync when the phone is connected to a 4G / LTE / 4G LTE mobile data/cellular data signal only (Wi-Fi is OFF on the phone when syncing). It is Sync over home network that uses Wi-Fi on the phone to sync.

    Hi Tony,

Thank you for the details. This is the process of how AkrutoSync works: It is installed on a computer running on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 with Outlook 2002/2003/2007/2010/2013/2016/Office 365 with Outlook 2013 or 2016. The root source of its data is the PST or OST file of a POP3 or IMAP email account from Outlook. It can sync Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes (it depends which type/s you sync) to Android phones/tablets, Windows mobile phones/tablets, and iOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch).

Any entry in your phone for Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes (it depends which type/s you sync) that are not in Outlook on the computer WILL NOT SYNC thru AkrutoSync since the root source is Outlook’s Data file on the computer.

For Calendar and Contacts – you can manually transfer them from the phone to your computer and import it to Outlook on that computer using NON-AkrutoSync tools. Here is the guide: https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/

For Tasks and Notes – we do not have an official guide on how to manually transfer them to Outlook in your computer from the phone. You can check online for other tools that can do that.

Once Outlook on the computer is current (updated and complete) for Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes (it depends which type/s you sync) – that is the time we recommend you delete all entries for Calendar, Contacts, Tasks and Notes (it depends which type/s you sync) on the phone and finish the configuration of AkrutoSync in your computer in order for the initial sync to occur.

For Calendar in Android – it does not sync to Outlook for Android but it syncs to the native Calendar app of the S6 which is called Calendar or S Planner. In order to sync with Outlook for Android, the Exchange account that you added on the phone that is linked to AkrutoSync, you can add it as a new account in Outlook for Android app.

    Hi Phil,

First, please make sure to transfer all your Outlook data, including contacts, calendar, tasks and notes to the new computer. If you need help let us know.

Then download and install the Free Trial of AkrutoSync on your new computer. Click “Configure AkrutoSync” and set up sync between your new computer and your phone. Once you see that everything works, delete the old Exchange account from your phone. Once you do this, your phone syncs with your new computer and only with your new computer.

Note on licensing. If you paid the one-time fee of $34.95 or $39.95 USD for that license, that is only good for the first computer that you originally installed AkrutoSync. A transferable license is the one for the PREMIUM (the $2.99 USD/month that can be paid per quarter or per year). Please refer to: https://www.akruto.com/get-akruto-sync/

    Hi Brett,

AkrutoSync does not sync to OWA.

This is the process of how AkrutoSync works: It is installed on a computer running on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 with Outlook 2002/2003/2007/2010/2013/2016/Office 365 with Outlook 2013 or 2016. Regarding Mac computers:
AkrutoSync IS NOT Mac OS compatible. It works on Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 computers. If you want to use it on a Mac – that computer needs to have a Wiindows OS virtual machine like Parallels on bridge mode (Parallels is
    a paid program).

    Hi GW,

Could you please repost your message via email to [email protected]

Also, please include these in your email:
    1. The latest screenshot of AkrutoSync’s current screen from your computer

    2. What is the Android version of your S7 edge Android phone (Settings > About phone/device > Android version)?

    3. Are you using a Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10 computer? Is it a desktop or a laptop? Wired directly to the router or connected via Wi-Fi?

If you are not familiar with ‘how to take a screenshot and attaching it to the email’, please use this guide:
    1. Press the “Print Screen” key on your keyboard (also labeled as “Prt Sc” or “PrtScn”). This will capture an image of your entire screen.
Or you can Click on the AkrutoSync window then hold down the Alt button and press Prt Sc. This will take a picture of the “active” window on your screen. An image of the window will be copied to the clipboard. You will not receive any confirmation that the screenshot has been taken.

    2. Paste the screenshot. Once you have made the screenshot, you will need to paste it to an editor. Open Paint from the Accessories section in your Start menu or search Paint in Windows Search. With a new blank canvas open in Paint, press the Ctrl and V buttons together to paste the image onto the canvas. You can also right-click on the canvas and select Paste.

    3. Save the screenshot. Click File, then Save to set the name and file type of the image. You can select the JPG or PNG file type. Select and remember the save location, then click Save.

    4. Attach the screenshot that you saved as a reply to this email.

Alternatively, you can refer to the guide for taking a screenshot here: http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Screenshot-in-Microsoft-Windows

    For AkrutoSync version 5.2:
The new version allows the program to be minimized into the Taskbar Notification Area (near the system clock).

Also added a capability to take screenshots right from AkrutoSync to make support’s life easier. To take a screenshot, the small icon in the top left corner of the AkrutoSync window (or press Alt+Space). A menu will open; select “Take screenshot”. You will be offered to select a file name and location for the screenshot file. The default location for the screenshot file is on the desktop and the default file name is AkrutoSync Screenshot.png.

We will wait for your response.

    Regards,

    Alf Delola
