    Hello Pete,

We apologize for the inconvenience. A “Failed” status usually indicates that AkrutoSync detects a corrupted or damaged Outlook data (PST) file or with the Outlook installation itself.

Please click “Select what to Sync” and check if you have properly selected a folder for each category (Calendar, Contacts, Task and Notes) and click save then try to force a sync from your phone.

Here’s how you can force a sync from your phone: https://www.akruto.com/f-a-q/#q_force_sync

If that didn’t work, please take a screenshot of AkrutoSync main window on your computer then send it via email to [email protected] for further troubleshooting.

    Hello Quentin,

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Please try this:

Close AkrutoSync and close your Outlook then restart your computer. Restart your phone as well.
After the restart, make sure that both of your computer and phone are connected to the same network.

Open your Outlook first and wait for 5 minutes before opening AkrutoSync. Then force a sync on your phone and see if it will make any difference. If this didn’t work, please take a current screenshot of AkrutoSync window and send it to us via email to [email protected] for further troubleshooting.

    Hello David,

AkrutoSync is only transferable if you have a premium license.

If you have a basic license, unfortunately, it is not possible to apply it to another computer. I suggest to subscribe to our monthly subscription $2.99 (Paid Quarterly or Annually) which you can cancel anytime that you want. You can also get the following:

    • Unlimited priority support (vs. one year support for one-time purchase)
    • Free upgrades
    • License transferable to new PC
    • Minimal upfront payment
    • Remote installation discount ($10 off)

See license details and comparison below:
    https://www.akruto.com/get-akruto-sync/

When you are ready to switch computers, install AkrutoSync on the new computer and apply the Premium license you purchased .

When switching computers, please keep in mind the following.

    1) You cannot use AkrutoSync to pull the data from your old phone into your new computer. I assume you have some means to transfer your documents and other files to your new computer. Use the same means to transfer your Outlook data, you may use this guide on how to transfer the Outlook data on your phone to your new PC. https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/

    2) Do not use existing account on your phone to sync with the new computer. Instead, make sure that your new computer has all your data, delete from your phone the account that you use for AkrutoSync (this will also delete from your phone contacts, calendar and tasks), and set up AkrutoSync on your new computer to sync with your phone (this will copy the data from your new computer to your phone and ensure that two-way sync before your phone and your new computer works)

The phone can have many accounts such as Google or others. When you add something from the phone, you need to make sure you are saving it to the AkrutoSync account. Only items saved under the AkrutoSync account can sync back into Outlook.

    Hi Alan,

Let us check if the phone and the computer can communicate with each other.

    1. Go to the Wi-Fi settings of your phone. Tap the Wi-Fi connection where your phone is currently connected to and look for a IP Address or IPV4 Address.

    2. On your computer, go to Start (Or the Window Circle), then All Programs, then Accessories, then Command Prompt. In the black box type in IPCONFIG look for the IPV4 address or IP Address and default gateway.

We will wait for your response,

    Regards,

    Hello Alan,

    Please check the following:

    1. Make sure your phone is not on “Airplane Mode”

    2. Please open settings -> Wi-Fi on your phone and make sure it says “connected”. Not just “on”, but “connected” to the same network of your PC. If your PC or laptop is also using Wi-Fi make sure it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your phone is connected to. Also make sure that Mobile Data / Cellular Data is Turned OFF. Also, please make sure that both your devices are connected to the same 2.4 ghz or 5ghz router. This is usually indicated in the Wi-Fi name. (Example: Brian Wi-Fi 2.4ghz or Brian Wi-Fi 5ghz)

    3. If you have a firewall on your computer, it may be preventing the connection You can try disabling the firewall (as a test only) to see if it is the reason for connection problems. If you are using something other than the Windows Firewall, please make sure Akruto is listed as “allowed”. If this does not work, completely turn off your firewall.

If this still doesn’t work, please take a screenshot of AkrutoSync main window on your computer and send it via email to [email protected] for further troubleshooting.

    Hello Chris,

    Thank you for the email.

If the phone cannot connect to the IP address or hostname URL, it means that the phone is not yet communicating with AkrutoSync. There can be several reasons your phone cannot connect to your computer.

If you are using something other than the Windows Firewall, please make sure Akruto is listed as “allowed”. If this does not work, completely turn off your firewall and restart your PC and Phone.

    Hello David,

For automatic syncing, the sync is initiated by the phone which looks for new data every 15-35 minutes, this is the set sync interval. There is not a real way to tweak this setting. If AkrutoSync is open and the phone is still connected to the WiFi, the sync will eventually push the changes. You will need to have AkrutoSync running for a sync to occur. It will also work with the AkrutoSync window minimized.

When you make changes or additions to the data in Outlook and want an immediate sync to happen, the solution is to force a sync from the phone.

How to force a sync: https://www.akruto.com/f-a-q/#q_force_sync

The reason for this is because when you make those changes in Outlook, neither AkrutoSync, nor the phone are aware that changes have been made. Only when the phone looks for changes will it see that there are new entries to be synced.

in reply to: How to share akrutosynch calendar?

    #17966

    Akruto Support

    Moderator

    Hello Wade,

AkrutoSync will sync the contacts, calendar, task and notes from the Outlook on your computer to the built-in contacts, calendar, task (reminders app for iPhone) and notes app on your phone and will be saved under the Exchange account configured for Akrutosync. The phone can have many accounts such as iCloud or others. When you add something from the phone, you need to make sure you are saving it to the AkrutoSync account. Only items saved under the AkrutoSync account can sync back into Outlook.

Unfortunately, the data saved under the Exchange account or from your Outlook will not sync to iCloud or any other account on your phone. That Exchange account is solely for the sync of your Outlook and phone using AkrutoSync. What you can try is to re-create the specific calendar entries that you want to preserve on your phone and save it under iCloud account if you wish to sync those calendars to your iCloud. However, you may encounter duplicates on your phone as your phone will have 2 entries for those specific events (one saved under Exchange and one saved under iCloud).
