Hi Ann
May we know if you are syncing with multiple devices with your computer?
Please click “Configure AkrutoSync” and select “Change Password” in the bottom part then follow the on-screen instructions. Edit the password value in the Exchange server settings on your phone and save the changes.
If the instruction above did not work, please email us at [email protected] for further troubleshooting.

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Magnus
Please click “Open Data Directory” in AkrutoSync window and look for “config” file. Open that file and change the value of ” folder.list.timeout=10 ” to ” folder.list.timeout=120 “. Quit AkrutoSync after and open it again then check if the issue will still be the same.

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Michael
One of the steps in the configuration was to clear the phone of data. The reason this step is there is primarily to prevent duplicates but also because AkrutoSync cannot sync your existing data from the phone to Outlook. This is because the existing data on the phone is saved under a different account like Google for example. Data cannot jump from one account to the other. You would have to export those contacts out of the phone and remove them from the phone. Then import the contacts into Outlook and AkrutoSync will sync them with your phone but now they will be saved under the Exchange account that was created for AkrutoSync. This will ensure the two way synchronization.
Here is a link that may help with exporting data. Keep in mind that because the contacts from Outlook have already synced over the phone, you may experience duplicates. The easiest way to avoid this is to remove the Exchange account from the phone as this will remove all contacts, calendar, tasks and notes that synced with AkrutoSync from the phone. Once you have the existing contacts imported in Outlook then you will have to configure AkrutoSync again.
https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/
You can also skip the wiping of the data on your phone. You need to hide the data saved under different account in the contacts and calendar app on your phone and make sure that it is only displaying the data from the AkrutoSync Exchange account. This way, you will get rid of the duplicates from appearing on your phone.

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Carl,
You can make AkrutoSync use a different port number, but you will also need to make your phone connect to that port number. Not all phones can do this. To make AkrutoSync use a different port number, you can do the following
1) Click the “Open Data Directory” link in AkrutoSync.2) In the windows that opens, find the file config.txt and double-click it to edit the file.
3) Add the following lines to the config file
port.ssl=1443
port.configuration.external=5555(you can use other port numbers, instead of the ones indicated above if you like)
4) Save and close the config file5) Restart AkrutoSync
It will use port 1443, instead of 443 and 5555, instead of 54321. On your phone, you will need to make your Exchange account connect to port 1443. Some phones have a box under account settings, where you can enter the port number. On some phones, you can append the port number to the server name, like xy123.no-ip.com:1443 Still other phones do not accept non-standard port numbers at all, in which case you can sync one phone over the Internet and one phone over your home network.

Brian TanModeratorHi Julie,
It is possible that there is a setting in Outlook that does not show up the notification.
Can you send us a screenshot of your Outlook calendar creation screen so we can check?
Alternatively, send us an email [email protected] so we can better assist you.

Brian TanModeratorHi Andrzej
I’m sorry that you are having this problem.
If you find that the items have been deleted by checking “Synchronization History”, we can restore them into Outlook through AkrutoSync. To do this:
1. Open AkrutoSync and click Synchronization history
2. Make sure you are viewing the Calendar and then to the right, click Save All. Here you will be saving all the calendar items AkrutoSync ever saw and transferred to your phone or click on each appointment you want to recover and click on “Save this version”
3. Pick a location on your computer to save the file to.
4. Open Outlook and drag the file into Outlook thus recovering the calendar from the file.
5. If dragging does not work, open Outlook and then click File > Account Settings > Account Settings > select the Data Files tab and click Add, then select the data file with the contacts that you have restored from AkrutoSync.
Once you have restored them into Outlook, please delete the Exchange account for AkrutoSync on your phone by going into Settings -> Accounts -> Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync -> Settings -> Tap on the Trash icon on the top right and select the account for Akruto then tap Delete. This will remove all data under the AkrutoSync account on your phone but will be synced after your next sync with AkrutoSync. Make sure that your Outlook have all the latest Contacts, Calendar, Task and Notes that you want to sync before doing this.
6. In AkrutoSync click Configure AkrutoSync and then click Configure again. You may ignore the warning about wiping the phone as removing the account is good enough. Follow the instructions and set up your sync again.
This should restore all calendars that have been deleted into Outlook, and should sync back to your phone through AkrutoSync. To restore contacts, do the same steps above but click contacts for Type and then Save All, and proceed with steps 4-6. Then do the same for Tasks.
Let us know how this works for you.

Microsoft kept the wizard, but it is a little harder to get to.
You may use this article from from Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3189194/how-to-disable-simplified-account-creation-in-outlook-2016
Let me know if this works for you.
Regards,
Brian TanModeratorHi Karen and Mac,
The phone can have many accounts such as Google or others. When you add something from the phone, you need to make sure you are saving it to the AkrutoSync account. Only items saved under the AkrutoSync account can sync back into Outlook. To do this, when adding an appointment, please go through every field. One of them will give you the option to pick the account you want the event to be saved to, choose to save that appointment in the account you created for Akruto. Once you sync, you will then see the item in Outlook.
Let us know if this worked for you,

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Mike,
Thank you for choosing AkrutoSync,
I am sorry, but AkrutoSync does not synchronize email yet. It does not support email and will not sync them out of Outlook. This is because most phones already have the capability of syncing directly with the email provider. You may try to directly add your POP and IMAP email accounts in the accounts section of your phone so that you can directly sync your email from these accounts.
If you want to sync your contacts, tasks, calendar and notes from your email accounts in Outlook on the computer, then AkrutoSync can sync keep them in sync with your devices.
Let us know how this works for you. Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

Brian TanModeratorHi Linda,
The normal setup is installed in AkrutoSync on the primary computer where Outlook is running, and multiple “devices” connect to this one computer. The “device can be a phone or a tablet, but if your laptop is running on Windows 8.1 / 8.0 / 10 or Outlook 2013 / 2016 then it can also act as a “device” .
It is possible to install AkrutoSync on computer A, and set up computer B to sync with it.
Computer A or the main computer must have a full version of Windows, As long as it is not running Windows RT. Computer A can have any version of Outlook installed with the combination of AkrutoSync.
Computer B must have Outlook 2013/2016. It is OK if computer B has Windows RT (although it can also have a full version of Windows).
For Computer A. When setting up sync in Akruto, select the “Windows Phone” option. When Akruto asks you to open a website, Go to Computer B and use Internet Explorer, do not use any other browser. Windows will ask you whether to choose a certificate store automatically or let you choose the certificate store manually. You need to manually choose the certificate store called “Trusted Root Certificate Authorities”.
Then open Outlook 2013/2016 settings and create the manual account. Choose Exchange AcriveSync (usually written as Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync in Outlook 2013/2016. Enter the fake email address displayed in AkrutoSync window and the password, just like you would do with any phone or tablet. Outlook 2013/2016 will act just like any physical phone or tablet.

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Hans
Do you mean “M Exchange” (which have similar logo with Gmail) in your phone?
AkrutoSync can use “M Exchange” or “Microsoft Exchange Active Sync” for creating the Exchange account on Android phones. AkrutoSync will use that Exchange account for syncing Contacts, Calendar, Task and Notes from your Outlook to the built-in applications in your phone and vice versa. Unfortunately, AkrutoSync does not synchronize email. AkrutoSync does not support email and will not sync them out of Outlook. The setting in your phone for email is default from Exchange but is not used by AkrutoSync. This is because most phones already have the capability of syncing directly with the email provider. You may try to directly add your POP and IMAP email accounts in the accounts section of your phone so that you can directly sync your email from these accounts.
If you are having problems with your current Akrutosync setup, please take a screenshot of the AkrutoSync window and send it via email to [email protected] for further troubleshooting.

Raphael Gonzales
AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Paul
We apologize for the inconvenience.
The log file contains all the processes that AkrutoSync executes for sync to occur. The log file will include the name of your Outlook profiles and Outlook folders. We can assure you that no Outlook data and information for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes can be seen or extracted from the log file.
If the log file size is taking large spaces in your hard drive, you can quit AkrutoSync in your computer and delete the large log file. Re-run AkrutoSync again and it will generate a fresh new log file with smaller size.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to stop the software from creating the log file. The log file is used to trace the problems encountered while using AkrutoSync.

Brian TanModeratorHi Dresden Skees-Gregory,
AkrutoSync is having trouble in accessing your Outlook folders.
We need to check and make sure that there is nothing strange in your Outlook configuration.
1. Do you have multiple copies of Outlook? Perhaps maybe a trial version was installed on your computer that you haven’t been aware of when you first bought it? Please check if you have other installations/versions of Outlook on your computer.
2. Please OPEN Outlook, and then restart AkrutoSync, and then click “Select What to Sync”. Do you see a list of your Outlook folders?
3. Please CLOSE Outlook, and then restart AkrutoSync, and then click “Select What to Sync”. Do you see a list of your Outlook folders?
4. Do you need to enter a password to see your data in Outlook?

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Rob
We are sorry that you encounter this problem.
To clarify, does the Notes in your Outlook are enclosed with “<” and “>” sign? Are these notes recently added from your phone and you tried to edit it in your Outlook?
In order to help you better, please take a screenshot of your AkrutoSync main window and the notes from your Outlook and phone for comparison and send it via email to [email protected]

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Marie
In “Select what to Sync” panel, you can find the data source in each option after the folder name.
For example, “Calendar in [email protected]”
“Calendar” refers to the name of the folder in your Outlook while “[email protected]” refers to the data source.
If you don’t see the data source of the selection, you can try sliding the bar at the bottom of the calendar category so you can find the full name of the selection. You can also try comparing the number of Calendar entries in your Outlook from this panel.
If you still don’t see the profile name/data source on each selection, please take a screenshot of “Select what to Sync” panel in AkrutoSync. After taking a screenshot, in your Outlook, go to File -> Account Settings -> Data Files and take a screenshot. Take a screenshot of the Calendar in your Outlook as well for comparing.
Send all of the screenshots via email to [email protected] for further troubleshooting.

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi,
As a workaround, it is possible to sync multiple contact folders (as well as multiple calendars, etc…) by running several copies of AkrutoSync on the same PC. Only one license is required, since you are running on the same PC, but the setup is a bit involved. Contact us for details if you’d like to do this.

Brian TanModeratorHi Sohail,
Thanks for choosing AkrutoSync. I am sorry that you are having this problem.
If you are using Skype, then open Skype and select Tools->Options->Advanced; go to ‘Connections’ tab and uncheck the checkbox for ports 80 and 443.
If you have Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Server) running on your computer, the open Control Panel -> Advanced -> Services, disable Internet Information Server and reboot the computer.
If you are using VmWare workstation, you can change the port number it uses in VmWare settings.
If you do not know what program is using port 443, you can use a free tool from Microsoft, called TCPView (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897437.aspx) to determine which program uses the port. In TCPView, sort by ‘Local Port’ column and find 443 or https. Then stop or disable the program using this port.
Please let us know what you find out and we’ll help you get AkrutoSync running. There is a way to change the port but first we need to make sure this is the issue.

AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Benjamin,
AkrutoSync does sync categories. What the phone does with categories depends on the phone. For contacts, Android phones map Outlook categories to Android contact groups. For calendar and tasks, Android ignores categories altogether. This is part of Android OS and unfortunately, we cannot change it.

Raphael Gonzales
AkrutoSyncModeratorHi Jerry,
If your phone has all of your Outlook contacts, calendars then you can export them and then import them to Outlook before clearing your phone of this data. This will ensure the two way synchronization
Here is a link that may help with exporting data https://www.akruto.com/backup-phone-contacts-calendar/ Once you have the existing contacts imported in Outlook then you can start configure AkrutoSync so the information from Outlook will then sync back to your phone. After the initial sync, anything added, edited, deleted from your phone will now sync to Outlook and vice versa.
